Bringing Bravo Home: A Protecto Paws x Paws of War Mission

At Protecto, we believe that every pet deserves a safe, warm, and happy life. This belief is the heartbeat of our new initiative, Protecto Paws, where we donate 1% of our profits to rescue missions and animal welfare organizations worldwide.

Today, we are honored to share the story of a very special dog named Bravo and the hero who refused to leave him behind.

A Bond Forged in the Middle East

U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Jay has served for over nine years, but his most recent overseas deployment brought him a friend when he needed one most. Bravo, a sweet and gentle soul, stood out from the typical street dogs in the region. While others had survival instincts, Bravo only had a big heart.

Jay recalls the night their bond truly began:

"One night I was sitting outside and he came running up to me, tail wagging, and sat next to me while I talked to my family back home. His presence was comforting... I still knew he needed me as much as I needed him."

More Than Just a Companion

Bravo became a staple of Sergeant Jay's daily routine. The bond deepened even further when Jay received heartbreaking news that his dog back home had passed away. In a place defined by harsh conditions and danger, Bravo was there to provide comfort and a sense of home.

The Mission: No Heartbreaking Goodbyes

As Jay’s deployment nears its end, the thought of leaving Bravo behind is unthinkable. Bravo lacks the instincts to survive on the streets; he thinks everyone is his friend, which makes him a target for starvation, exposure, or even people who would cause him harm.

Sergeant Jay reached out to Paws of War for help, and the Protecto Paws team is proud to join this mission to bring Bravo to America.
